Leo Coulter is a producer, guitarist and writer who runs a recording studio in Somerset's Mendip hills. Originally a guitarist and composer, he now works as a developer of up-and-coming artists and and is also known as a writer on music and recording technology. He has co-authored How to record your own music and get it on the internet (2009) and The Guitar Player's Songwriting Bible (2010) for Apple Press.
"The Mechanics of Songwriting" is his first book with Siduri Books, and his most ambitious yet. Attempting to break with the template of easy fixes and rock star wisdom common to most discussions surrounding songwriting, "The Mechanics of Songwriting" lays out structures and principles typically thought of as inaccessible to the lay musician.
